Acupuncture has been practiced for over 3000 years in China and it is the oldest continuously practiced medical system in the world. One third of the world’s population uses acupuncture as a primary health care system.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed acupuncture treatment for over 40 conditions, including:

How often would I need to be treated?
How often you will come will depend on your unique circumstances. Generally, I recommend coming weekly for at least four treatments. After that, treatments can be spaced out monthly, seasonally, or when needed during stressful times.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
Most of my patients pay for their treatments without using insurance. There are a growing number of insurance companies that reimburse for acupuncture treatments. I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit for reimbursement. Consult your insurer for the terms of coverage on your policy.
Are the needles safe?
Yes. Sterile disposable needles are used. They are used only once and then disposed of immediately.
What happens during the first treatment?
The first appointment is typically a two-hour consultation and treatment session. During this visit we will speak at length about your health concerns and other concerns. I will listen to your pulse - which is different than how Western medical practitioners listen to the pulse. I am able to access 12 meridians (channels) in the body through the pulse. I will also examine your tongue and perform a brief abdominal examination. You will then receive a full acupuncture treatment. The primary objective of the first appointment is to assess the underlying conditions that have led to your current concerns.
First Acupuncture Treatment includes a comprehensive Chinese physical exam tongue and pulse diagnosis, complete health history, and an acupuncture treatment. Allow two hours for this appointment $130

Acupuncture Treatments include a time to reflect on the changes in the body. I will perform an ongoing assessment of tongue and pulse and a full acupuncture treatment which involved needles and/or moxa (a warming herb that is placed on the skin) Treatments last for approximately one hour $85
